The Community Engagement Coordinator supports Lake Avenue Church's mission and vision by shepherding, leading, and managing a ministry designed to welcome and integrate newcomers into our church family. The coordinator will recruit, train, and mentor volunteer teams as they cultivate a comprehensive hospitality ministry. The Coordinator will collaborate with staff and volunteers to help foster a vibrant, welcoming church community.
We are looking for someone who is first faithful to the Gospel, is spiritually passionate, and builds excellent volunteer teams. This position requires a highly organized, relationally engaging, and motivated individual. We seek someone to lead out of their passion for creative, relational, and welcoming ministry. With our congregation, it is critical to lead across spiritually, ethnically, socio-economically, and culturally diverse groups. Essential to this position are the following:
- The Coordinator reports to the Associate Pastor of Congregational Life. They work alongside a team of directors and coordinators who oversee ministries from birth through adulthood.
- The Coordinator oversees a large team of volunteers. They will care for, connect, and communicate well with teams for ushering, greeting, and hospitality roles.
- The Coordinator collaborates with the Associate Pastor of Congregational Life to coordinate newcomer and membership classes, integrating attendees into church life.
- The Coordinator’s responsibilities include managing the volunteer database, organizing training and appreciation events, and functioning as part of our pastoral/ministry team.

Qualifications include:
- With a commitment to Lake Avenue Church's mission and vision, the candidate must wholeheartedly agree with the ten articles of the Lake Avenue Church Statement of Faith and the church’s positions on gender, human sexuality, and marriage.

- A Bible College degree is preferred.
- A collaborative spirit, able to work closely with church staff and ministry leaders.
